Goalkeeper position clarified
A central issue in the TSV 1860 Munich squad is the decision on the new goalkeeper. René Vollath, who recently moved to the Löwen from SpVgg Unterhaching, will be the club's number one goalkeeper. According to a report by abendzeitung-muenchen.de, this decision was made one day before the opening game against 1. FC Saarbrücken. Vollath, 34 years old, has a contract until 2026 and has chosen the shirt number “11”, which is interpreted as a signal of his ambitions.
Marco Hiller, who was previously established as the starting goalkeeper, is disappointed despite this decision, but remains professional and will continue to support the team as a leader.
