Volunteering in Perlesreut: Mayors donate money for the deserving!
On Friday, August 29th, a special volunteer evening will take place in Perlesreut, in which the market town councilors will take an active role. As the PNP reports, the evening will be held at the Passion Grounds, where the councilors will be responsible for serving drinks. Mayor Gerhard Poschinger will serve beer and non-alcoholic refreshments. The deserving volunteers can look forward to free drinks, which will be handed out through special makers, as presented at the last meeting of the market town council.
This event aims to recognize the work of volunteer citizens and to recognize them for their tireless efforts. The entire community is invited to attend this evening to promote connection and appreciation.
Change of leadership in the cultural and passion play association
There is also relevant news from the Perlesreut cultural and passion play association that should not go unmentioned. Alexander Muthmann has resigned as chairman after 13 years of leadership and four seasons. Mayor Gerhard Poschinger, who previously served as deputy, is now taking over the chairmanship. Muthmann is appointed honorary chairman in recognition of his many years of work.
The next passion play is already planned for summer 2027. However, the 2023 performances enjoyed a high response from visitors. Despite bad weather, 1,700 visitors were welcomed on the first weekend, while the second event was a great success with around 3,000 visitors and four sold-out performances.
Protection of performances
In this context, the association points out the importance of protecting the performances. Visitors were informed that unauthorized film and sound recordings of the games could result in legal consequences. The association has therefore called for such content to be removed from the Internet and is threatening to bring criminal charges against those responsible.
The combination of volunteer appreciation and strong cultural development shows the community's commitment to preserving its traditions while exploring new ways to strengthen the community.
