SENSATION in the canton of Uri: 54.4 million for a traffic turnaround in the Lower Reuss Valley!
A sensational turnaround for the transport infrastructure in the canton of Uri! The canton has submitted the eagerly awaited Lower Reuss Valley agglomeration program to the federal government, and the investments associated with it are truly INCREDIBLE: a total of 54.4 million francs will flow into better transport connections! This is the FUROR everyone has been waiting for! The program, which was developed in close cooperation with the communities of Altdorf, Attinghausen, Bürglen, Erstfeld, Flüelen, Schattdorf, Seedorf and Silenen, is intended to revolutionize the region's outdated infrastructure.
What is actually behind this still unheard of project? These are not just any plans - the fifth generation agglomeration program represents a CLASS IMPROVEMENT in our mobility! The aim is to harmoniously coordinate settlement, landscape and traffic in densely populated areas that are chronically in crisis due to overloaded roads and public transport.
The COMEBACK strategy for the Lower Reuss Valley
The program was submitted to the federal government on time at the end of June and is the third prank that the canton of Uri has launched together with its municipalities. What is incredibly important is the focus on the implementation of previous AGGLOMERATION PROGRAMS! These already contain tried and tested measures such as the West-East connection (WOV) and new cycle path connections. The urgently needed development of Schattdorf and Altdorf is also on the list of PRIORITIES!
Did you know that the HIGHEST PRIORITY projects are scheduled to be implemented between 2028 and 2032? This corresponds to a volume of an astonishing 15.8 million francs! The federal government is now examining all submitted programs - but relief for the affected communities and road users will not come until 2027. Can you imagine that? Another race against time to finally get the outdated transport infrastructure in the canton of Uri up and running!
The fight against traffic jams and overloaded means of transport
But that's not all! The Federal Office for Spatial Development makes it clear that without targeted INVESTMENT in the transport infrastructure in urban areas, not only the streets but also trains, trams and buses will be overloaded. FUTURE population and job growth will cause traffic to skyrocket - this could have a catastrophic impact on residents' quality of life!
The measures for pedestrian and bicycle traffic and the upgrade of bus stops could be the salvation everyone has been waiting for! A new concept for transport hubs will revolutionize mobility in the canton. The weak points must be addressed now, IMMEDIATELY!
The wave of change is coming, and the population can expect the first results as early as 2028. But be warned: the fight to finance this serious TRANSFORMATION will be tough. In the meantime, citizens are stuck on the crowded streets while the Federal Parliament has scheduled THE DECISION on co-financing for 2027!
Stay tuned, because the majesties of transport will determine the future of our beloved canton. It's time to raise their voices and take to the streets!
