Altdorf volleyball ladies are fighting for their first victory in Bad Soden!
TV SUSPA Altdorf is facing an important game in the 2nd Bundesliga South when the women's team will play away against TG Bad Soden next weekend. This will be the third game of the season for the Altdorf team, who have had mixed results so far. In the first game of the season, Altdorf achieved a convincing 3-0 win against TSV Unterhaching (25:23, 25:18, 26:24). However, in their second game they suffered a bitter defeat in the fifth set against SV Lohhof.
TG Bad Soden also had a difficult start to the season and is at the bottom of the table after two defeats against SV Lohhof and TSV TB Munich. The Altdorf women will be motivated to score points against the current bottom team and improve their situation in the table.
Volleyball clinic as a supporting program
Before the upcoming match, a special volleyball clinic will take place at the Otfried-Preußler School in Bad Soden. This event is carried out by Altdorf coach Christy Swagerty as well as her colleague Kerstin Dudichum-Kiene and players from both teams. They will teach young talents valuable attack strategies and defensive techniques. The motto of the event “Team First” is intended to underline the importance of cooperation and team spirit in volleyball.
The game itself will be broadcast live via the YouTube channel Dyn, giving fans the opportunity to follow the game from a distance.
Looking back at last season
The TV Altdorf women's team had an interesting last season. The newly formed team was initially viewed with skepticism, but was able to significantly improve their team communication and cooperation over the course of the season. In the end they finished 5th in the table. Preparation for the current season took place from the end of May to the beginning of July, with particular attention being paid to basics and strength training under the athletics coach Jürgen.
There were some changes in the squad during the summer break. The player Mathilda Dogu has left the club because she is now playing in the north of Germany. New to the team are Sophia Botsch, Lily Zant, Nelly Hölzlein and Amelie Fuchs, who have the right to play doubles. Head coach Christy Swagerty and assistant coach Thomas Kotlar, both of whom are in their fourth season, led a training camp in Bischofsgrün at the end of August to optimally prepare the team for the new season.
The Altdorf women are looking forward to the challenges of the new season and are looking forward to their upcoming opponents.
