Significance of the heat transition for private households
Loud Energy Agency Southwest Private households in Germany use around half of the total thermal energy requirements for heating and hot water, which makes their contribution to the climate-friendly heating transition essential. Various measures to save energy are necessary. This includes window replacement, insulation work, and the installation of solar thermal and photovoltaic systems.
Another important aspect is municipal heat planning, which promotes connection to heat networks. From December 2023, all municipalities in Germany will be required to submit comprehensive heat plans, with the deadline running until June 30, 2028 for municipalities with fewer than 100,000 inhabitants. These requirements come from the Heat Planning Act, which comes into force on January 1, 2024.
The Energy Agency's heat transition campaign offers both on-site and online lectures that deal with topics such as heating networks, individual heating options and the requirements of the Building Energy Act (GEG) 2024. The consumer advice center also provides an overview of the requirements of the GEG, which will apply from 2024.
The events in the PopUp Studio therefore offer an excellent opportunity to find out about current developments in the heating transition and to rethink your own heating technology. Awareness of green energy and sustainable heating solutions will be crucial for the future development of energy policy in Germany, especially in view of the upcoming legal changes.
