The Fritz car dealership in Pfullendorf has a new owner. Karl Fritz and his wife Monika are selling the company they have run since 2004 after 21 years of being self-employed. The buyer is the Tyrolean family business Unterberger, which is already well established in the Lake Constance region. The sale is particularly necessary due to the lack of a successor for the business, even if Karl Fritz has a positive feeling about the future of the car dealership under Unterberger's management. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price, but Gerald Unterberger described it as fair. Pfullendorf will be the Unterberger Group's eighth location in Germany.
The takeover of the car dealership will officially take place on July 1, 2025. Karl Fritz, who built the company together with his wife, will stay at the location for six months as a consultant and operations manager. Unterberger plans to continue running the car dealership as a branch of “Autohaus Unterberger GmbH” in Lindau. It is expected that BMWs and Minis will continue to be sold there, which should ensure continuity for customers, employees and suppliers. “We have come to stay,” emphasizes Gerald Unterberger.

Unterberger is considered one of the largest automobile dealers in southern Germany and Austria.
