New solar park in the Allgäu: 1,500 households benefit sustainably!
A new solar park is being built near the A 96 near Niederwangen-Humbrechts, which will provide green electricity for around 1,500 households every year. This innovative project is operated by EnBW Solar GmbH and implemented in close cooperation with the Wangen Citizens' Energy Cooperative (BEG). The total area of the solar park is around 6.5 hectares and has a long history that focuses on the participation of local residents. The aim is to supply the region sustainably with renewable energy.
The new solar park is part of EnBW's ongoing solar strategy, which focuses on promoting green electricity supply. The company, which is considered a pioneer in the integration of battery storage into solar parks, follows a holistic approach that includes the development, construction, operation and maintenance of these projects. EnBW also plans to dismantle projects after the end of the plant's lifespan in order to comply with the environment and develop the region sustainably.
