Little Journey inspires with music at the Lake Constance Festival in Wangen!

On Friday, May 30th, the duo “kleine Reise” with Katharina Uhland and Florian Thunemann will be performing at the Häge-Schmiede in Wangen. This concert is part of the bottomless Lake Constance Festival 2023, which unfolds under the motto “Freedom” and takes place from May 17th to June 9th. The event begins at 8 p.m. and impresses with the creative combination of two guitars, two voices and a loop station, which characterizes the duo's musical style. [Schwäbische.de](https://www.schwaebische.de/regional/allgaeu/wangen/duo-gastiert-im- framing-des-bodenseefestivals-in-wangen-3607208) reports that the songs by Uhland and Thunemann address the ups and downs of life, seasoned with humorous elements.

Thunemann, who was already active at the Wangener Sommertheater, will be accompanied on the piano at the concert by Florian Schmidt-Gahlen. The musical performance includes both German and English texts that deal with topics such as love, relationships, non-love and farewell thoughts. This diversity in content is underpinned by Friedrich Nietzsche's statement: “Without music, life would be a mistake.”

Diverse supporting program at the Lake Constance Festival

According to Bodensee.de, the artists in focus include accordionist Ksenija Sidorova and jazz pianist Michael Wollny as artists in residence. The festival addresses the meaning of freedom in its many forms and reflects historical contexts in which freedom played a central role, such as the peasant uprisings 500 years ago in the Lake Constance area.

Special highlights during the festival include concerts with internationally renowned artists such as Joana Mallwitz with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Munich Chamber Orchestra, which underline the cultural diversity of the region. Special offers for children and families also enrich the program, including a picnic concert in Salem Castle Park on Whit Monday.
