District championships: Bad Waldsee celebrates tennis title!

The district championships for active and senior citizens in Bad Waldsee, which took place over the long weekend of Ascension Day, attracted many talented tennis players from the region. The event, which took place at one of the most beautiful tennis facilities in Upper Swabia, offered exciting competitions and an atmosphere full of enthusiasm.

In the prestigious women's and men's A competitions, the athletes presented themselves at a high level. Favorite Anastasia Sysoeva from TC Ravensburg, daughter of former professional player Andrei Cherkasov, showed an outstanding performance in the final against 16-year-old Jana Stepanenko from TC Ehingen. Sysoeva prevailed 6:4, 6:2 and secured the title in the women's A competition.

Men's competition with a thrilling finale

48 players competed in the men's A competition, which underlined the high quality of the tournament. In the final, Adrian Grimolizzi from TA Spfr. Schwendi and David Gaissert from TC Bad Schussenried met. After an exciting run in which Gaissert won the second set 6:3, a match tiebreak decided the championship title. Grimolizzi won the first set 6-3 before Gaissert won the second set. In the decisive tiebreak, Gaissert prevailed 10:4 and was crowned district champion.

The championship series continued with further impressive performances. In the men's doubles, Tom Gutermann and Joel Stuböck, both from TA Spfr. Schwendi, won the tournament. Jana Stepanenko and Leni Eisele from TC Ehingen triumphed in the women's doubles. Other titles went to:

The award ceremony honored the players' outstanding achievements and thanked the spectators and the organizers Jessica Tagliaferri, Markus Müller, Sebastian and Rainer Eisele. What was particularly pleasing for TC Bad Schussenried was winning two district championship titles among the seniors and five additional podium places, which underlines the strong performance of the home club.
