Brezel Race in Stuttgart: An unforgettable bike race despite the rain!
The popular event took place in Stuttgart on Sunday, September 14, 2025 Pretzel Race instead of. Around 4,000 cycling enthusiasts took part in the event, which began on Theodor-Heuss-Straße at 8:45 a.m. with the official starting signal from Stuttgart's mayor Frank Nopper. Despite a rainy night and morning, the weather improved just in time for the start and the sun came out.
The Brezel Race offered two different circuits for participants. The long route covered 121.2 kilometers and led via Bad Cannstatt, Untertürkheim and Esslingen to Ebersbach an der Fils. The shorter route was 58 kilometers long and led via Obertürkheim and Kernen-Rommelshausen towards Fellbach. Both routes took the cyclists back to Stuttgart, with the entourage turning off the Neckar in Münster and returning to Rotebühlplatz via the Killesberg.
Participants and results
The event attracted not only amateur athletes, but also professional cyclists. Among the well-known names was Miguel Heidemann, who won the runner-up title in the individual time trial of the Cycling DM in 2021 and spoke about his racing plan in an interview. Emanuel Buchmann expressed his satisfaction with his form and was happy about the victory of his teammate Maximilian Schachmann, who drew attention to himself with another victory as German champion in Stuttgart.
Schachmann called the race one of the most difficult of the season and mentioned the effort and pain he endured during the race. Jannik Steimle also spoke positively about his performance in Stuttgart and is optimistic about the second half of the season after struggling with injuries in the spring. The last drivers of the Brezel Race are expected at the finish around 3:30 p.m.
The Brezel Race once again shows the enthusiasm for cycling in Stuttgart and the opportunity to enjoy this dynamic event both as an athlete and as a spectator. The successful weather conditions and the varied routes offered ideal conditions for everyone involved.
