Tragic traffic accident in Leonberg: senior citizen rolled over and died

A tragic accident occurred in Leonberg on June 6, 2025, when an 81-year-old pedestrian fell onto the street for an unknown reason. The incident occurred at the intersection of Friedenstrasse and Hohheckstrasse. According to initial information from the Stuttgarter Nachrichten, the senior citizen was run over by a 43-year-old Mercedes driver who was turning from Hohheckstrasse into Friedenstrasse.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to hospital. Unfortunately, she died shortly afterwards in the clinic. The Stuttgart public prosecutor's office has already appointed an expert to clarify the exact course of the accident. The Ludwigsburg traffic police station is also looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident in order to better understand the circumstances and clarify possible responsibility.

Similar tragic accidents occurred elsewhere. There was another incident recently in Hilpoltstein, Roth district, in which an 88-year-old woman was hit by a truck while crossing a street. This happened at a pedestrian light that turned green for traffic. The elderly woman died from her injuries at the scene of the accident, while the driver of the truck fled after the collision. The police are now also looking for witnesses to the incident.
