Stuttgart Run 2025: Half Marathon and more – Register now!

The eagerly awaited Stuttgart Run will take place next weekend, returning with a half marathon and stadium visit. The great response is reflected in the over 17,000 registrations already received Stuttgart News reported. The participants include 8,500 runners for the half marathon, 4,000 for the ten-kilometer run, 1,500 for the five-kilometer run and 600 children for the Bambini run. Despite the high number of registrations, there are still a few places available in the ten-kilometer run and the mini marathon. These limitations are necessary because a construction site between Mühlhausen and Münster influences the route.

Saturday starts with the Bambini run, the mini marathon and the handbike mini marathon from 2 p.m. On Sunday the competitions begin at 8:45 a.m. with the handbike and wheelchair races, followed by the half marathon, relay race, ten and five kilometer runs and Nordic walking. Participants will be guided through the MHP arena before finally reaching the finish outside the arena. On this day, the roads along the half marathon route will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the latest, and vehicles will be banned from parking from 12:30 a.m. otherwise they will be towed away.

Starting block and registration

For the half marathon and the 10 km run, registration is required and the expected finish time must be stated. The starting block assignment will take place after the registration deadline on May 12th. The first wave of the half marathon begins at 9:00 a.m. on Benzstrasse. The color-coded starting blocks, which are named after sponsors or from A to C, are marked on the start number by a colored bar. Participants should line up in the correspondingly colored starting blocks and follow the helpers' instructions to ensure everything runs smoothly. Changes to the starting block are possible at the HelpDesk during the event weekend, with a small processing fee of 5.00 euros being charged.

The net time evaluation takes place via timing mats, so that participants who are further back in the starting block do not experience any disadvantage. In order to avoid hecticness and nervousness, it is recommended to arrive early and collect the starting documents in order to receive a sticker for the starting number.

Importance and popularity of running events

The Stuttgart Run is part of an established trend in Germany that is increasingly making running events popular. In a statistic of hlv.de It is clear that large running events attract participation numbers in the tens of thousands. This is how the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in 2019, for example, had 62,772 participants, while the Frankfurt Marathon ranked second with 20,696 runners. The Stuttgart Run, with over 17,000 registrations, is part of this success story and shows the growing interest in such events.

The anticipation for the Stuttgart run is great. Participants and spectators can look forward to an exciting weekend full of activities and sporting challenges.
