SENSATION in running: Christian Dihmann triumphs after comeback!

A breathtaking spectacle took place this evening at the 59th runners' evening in Stammheim, which captivated the spectators! In temperatures of more than 27 degrees Celsius, young athletes competed for thrills and triumphs. The highly praised organizer, Günter Krehl from VfL Stammheim, was pleased with an impressive turnout: more students gathered at the start of the 2000 meter route than in 2024, and the booming shouts of the fanatical crowd echoed throughout the entire event!

And if that wasn't enough: The fastest young athlete in the 2000 meters, Lennard Layer from SG Weinstadt, exceeded even the wildest expectations and ran away from his competition with an overwhelming 7:19.5 minutes! With a phenomenal improvement of 23 seconds in time, he is sure to become the talk of all sports enthusiasts. But that was just the beginning of the spectacular results!

A comeback for the history books!

The return of Christian Dihmann from SV Oberkollbach after his injury break could hardly be more sensational! With a fantastic victory in 10:19.2 minutes, he left his fellow competitors amazed, clearly leaving second-placed Kai Robazcewski (VfL Ostelsheim) behind with 10:22.4 minutes. Wow! What a dramatic return!

The other impressive placings over the 3000 meters, which enraptured the spectators, are just as spectacular:

  • Felix Bissinger (SV Oberkollbach) – 10:28,7 Minuten (1. M30)
  • Sebastian Kömpf (SV Oberkollbach) – 10:34,5 Minuten (2. M30)
  • Nino Kuhnert (SV Oberkollbach) – 10:44,7 Minuten (2. M35)
  • Domenik Behmke (SV Oberkollbach) – 10:49,0 Minuten (1. M45)
  • Gabriel Umbeer (SV Oberkollbach) – 10:57,9 Minuten (1. MU18)

But the surprises don't end there! Catherine Malloy from TF Feuerbach ran a sensational 11:06.7 minutes and achieved an improvement of 8 seconds - a truly historic moment! The oldest participant, Esther Johnen-Ahsbahs (TV Oberhaugstett), proved with 12:07.6 minutes that age is just a number, while Arnold Paschke (LG Winterlingen) amazed everyone at the proud age of 77 (14:24.1 minutes). What an extraordinary night!

An event full of emotions!

In addition to the spectacular performance in Stammheim, the track and field athletes showed true fighting spirit elsewhere: Jakob Ingebrigtsen from Norway celebrated his historic seventh European Indoor Championship title over 3000 meters! With a dizzying time of 7:48.37 minutes, he attacked the competition like a whirlwind. George Mills from Great Britain took the silver medal in the breathtaking final, while his compatriots Florian Bremm and Maximilian Thorwirth finished in the TOP 10, which is simply incredible overall!
