Sensation in the Schweinfurt district! On July 10, 2025, the selection of the new district wines for 2025/26 was made at a breathtaking blind tasting in the Frei:Raum community center in Dingolshausen. A 14-member jury watched the event with rapt breath - and the decision shocked the wine world! Two GIGANTIC winning wines have not only captured the hearts of the jurors, but will now be carried out into the world as ambassadors of the district!
Winning wines that pamper the palate! The 2023 Bacchus “Blinker” from the Baumann winery in Handthal and the 2023 Silvaner “Alte Reben”, an exquisite late harvest from the Bockstaschen winery Scheller in Stammheim, are in the spotlight like never before! District Administrator Florian Töpper congratulated the celebrated winemakers and emphasized the importance of this competition for the diversity of offerings in the region. “A must for every wine lover!” said Töpper when making the announcement.
Blind tasting – A secret of top wines
The blind tasting, which took place under the expert moderation of Ralf Schwarz, the renowned oenology consultant, was a true spectacle. Around 550 hectares of wine cultivation area in the Schweinfurt district provide the basis for numerous taste adventures. All wine producers in the district were invited to send their best wines into the race! Who knows, maybe there is an even greater treasure behind the next bottle?
