VW Bulli is 75: Big anniversary festival in Wolfsburg!
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles celebrates an important anniversary this year: 75 years VW Bulli. The celebrations took place on May 24th and 25th in the Autostadt in Wolfsburg and were celebrated with an open-air exhibition that presented over 75 bullis of all generations. Visitors were able to experience the fascinating development of the Bullis from a simple commercial vehicle to an iconic motorhome. The vehicle exhibition was strategically placed between the Zeithaus and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Pavilion and offered an impressive insight into the history of the famous vehicle.
As part of the anniversary celebration, there was not only an impressive vehicle exhibition, but also a variety of other attractions. Among other things, historical emergency vehicles such as the T1 ambulance and a T3 police vehicle were presented. Musically, the birddogs framed the event, while on the lagoon terrace, talk guests and a barbecue show provided entertainment. Expert lectures in the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Pavilion offered exciting insights into topics such as design, the so-called California world and the popular #bullilovestories.
children and families in focus
The offer of the Solar Bulli workshop was particularly family-friendly, in which parents and children were able to explore the possibilities of solar energy. There was also a Bulli schnitzel hunt and numerous other hands-on activities for children. A special exhibition under the title "75 years of Bulli" in the time house of the Autostadt will be shown for a period of six months. This not only shows iconic models, but also historical documents and photographs that illustrate the history of the Bullis.
The tickets for the Autostadt provide access to these events daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The possibilities of learning more about the history of the Bullis are diverse, especially when you consider that Volkswagen has sold over 13 million units of the Bullis worldwide since production started on March 8, 1950, like ndrs.de reported.
The youngest model, the T7, came onto the market in early 2025, and Volkswagen plans to offer future models of the Bullis electrically. Originally designed as a commercial vehicle for craftsmen, the Bulli has long since developed into a popular motorhome. This transformation illustrates the versatility and the ongoing charm of the Bullis, the fans all over the world.
