On Sunday, June 21, 2025, a very special event begins in the courtyard of Jovel in Münster: the “Reggae Steady Go!” festival. It pays homage to the legends of ska and reggae and offers visitors a varied program with top-class artists. Dr. Ring Ding, the well-known reggae and ska musician, is on stage as the headliner and is also celebrating the anniversary of his album “Dandimite!”.
The festival, which enriches the festival season in Munster, follows the Docklands Festival which took place two weeks ago. The next big event is the Vainstream Festival. “Reggae Steady Go!” This Sunday invites you to experience the diversity of reggae and ska.
A musical highlight
Dr. Ring Ding will not appear alone. He is accompanied by a seven-member cast that includes both long-time companions and young talents. A special highlight is the appearance of Doreen Shaffer, a founding member of the legendary “Skatalites”, who is expected to perform together with the Italian band “The Magnetics”. Junior Dell from Jamaica will also provide an exciting mix of old school and modern sound.
To enjoy the festival, attendees are encouraged to wear lightweight summer dance shoes to comfortably enjoy the ambience and music.
Child protection and safety
Participation in the event takes place in accordance with the current youth protection regulations. Young people are allowed to stay in restaurants unaccompanied until a maximum of midnight. A minimum age of 18 is generally required to access events that extend beyond midnight. These regulations are clearly communicated and deviations are stated separately.
The Jovel is also well prepared in terms of safety and hygiene. With a modern, recently tested ventilation system in all event rooms and UVC filter systems in the music hall and club, the venue ensures a pleasant atmosphere. In addition, the most modern dishwashing technology was installed by Meiko to ensure the highest standards.
