Impressive success for Möhringer Turner at the German Gymnastics Festival in Leipzig!
The International German Gymnastics Festival 2025 took place in Leipzig on Ascension weekend. This event is considered the largest competition and popular sports event worldwide and attracted 80,000 active and hundreds of thousands of visitors, as theBeate Braun, who works as a trainer, took part in two competitions and took the impressive 3rd place out of 41 participants in the election competition mix (a discipline in three sports) of the W60-64 age group. Your services included:
- gymnastics on the balance beam (P5, 14 points)
- athletics with a sling ball (37.20 m)
- 30 seconds Rope-skipping-speed (79 strokes)
In the athletics 3 fight, Beate also secured the 2nd place among 43 participants with the following results:
- sling ball (36.14 m)
- Legal jump (2.14 m)
- 50 m sprint (8.2 seconds)

Another active participant was Roland Betsch, a trainer in the boy who competed in the M55-59 age group. Roland showed a lot and won the election competition in gymnastics his age group (M57) and took the 8th place out of a total of 81 participants. His results were remarkable:
- Barren (P5, 15.4 points)
- pommel horse (P5, 15.4 points)
- jumping table (P8, 1.6 points)
- Overall result: 46.40 points
In the basic 3 fight "Turn10" of the men M55-64, Roland also fought for the front places and took the 1st place in his age group and 8th place overall. The following results contributed:
- deep bar (15.95 points)
- floor (15.20 points)
- Barren (17.25 points)
- Total points: 48.35

In addition, Roland took part in the 5 km gymnastics run, which took place with 633 participants. Here he achieved an excellent 4th place in his age group with a time of under 20 minutes. Both athletes, Beate and Roland, look back on an unforgettable weekend.
The organization of the German gymnastics festival was impressive: until the registration deadline on March 3, 2025, 49,853 participants had already registered with the aim of 80,000 athletes. Kati Brenner, the managing director of the organizing committee, underlined the importance of diversity and cohesion within the gymnastics community. In addition, Leipzig will once again organize a top-class sporting event in May 2025: the Turn European Championships, in which 346 active people from 38 nations will take part, as can be read on the website gymnastfest.de
