They founded an entrepreneurial company in spring 2017 and did not hesitate to take on 28,000 euros of their own debt in order to save the “Belinda” with all their might. Their tireless efforts set new standards - over 500 other fans joined their mission and founded a cooperative that was prepared to spend over a staggering one million euros to maintain the area.

A place of hope and encounter

With the tireless efforts of around 70 volunteers, the “Belinda” is now flourishing again! These intrepid rescuers act not only as bar staff, but also as DJs and make the walls of the discotheque shake again. But what are the shocking challenges that are affecting the entire club scene in Baden-Württemberg? An alarming report reveals the club scene is reeling under the pressure of skyrocketing costs and relentlessly declining attendance. ZDF shows today that over half of the music venues surveyed have no chance of survival without government support - within the next 12 months!

The “Belinda” appears like a shining light in this gloomy scenario! Their plans for the future include not only the urgently needed renovation of the area, but also the introduction of support programs for young people and adult education. Dramatic statistics show that since 2021, the formation of new clubs has fallen sharply. The Association of Music Venues in Germany warns that many clubs are unable to find successors who are prepared to take on the financial risk. ZDF reported today from a worrying situation: fewer concerts for emerging talents who urgently need a place to develop!

A ray of hope is the festival funding fund, which will support small and medium-sized festivals with 5 million euros in 2024. Nevertheless, it turns out that only 20% of the over 800 applicants were able to receive funding - far too little for an industry that is on the edge of the abyss!
