Schtraisalts rocks Waiblingen: pure Swabian sounds and humor!
The Swabian rock band “Schtraisalts”, led by Mari Eckhardt, recently released their fourth album entitled “Also jetz’ bass nomml uff”. The band, which was founded in 2008 by Mari Eckhardt and Detlef Schwab, brings a fresh mix of their own songs and rock'n'roll covers to the stage, enriched with Austrian influences. “Schtraisalts” means something like “road salt” in Swabian, a name that underlines the band’s regional ties. They are known in the music scene for their humorous interaction with the audience, which makes one of their performances a special experience. Mari Eckhardt, the frontman, originally comes from Schorndorf and now lives in Spraitbach.
On Saturday, June 28th, the band will perform at the “Talaue rockt” event in Waiblingen at 8 p.m. This will be a highlight of the evening, which will not only present their own songs, but also rock covers that are well received by the audience. The performance also falls on the final evening of the Cannstatter Mundarttage, which takes place in the “Neckarblick” beer garden in Stuttgart-Hofen. The music program will be varied and include both older and newer pieces.
Band structure and line-up
The flexibility of “Schtraisalts” is reflected in the band line-up, which varies between three and eight musicians depending on the performance. At the upcoming concert, Matthias Lederer, who contributes to the blues harp and backing vocals, will be on stage instead of Jürgen Werner. The drummer Manu Fernandez is a special figure in the band, as he supports his rhythm skills with a carpet beater and a wooden box that he calls “Bärbel”.
The combination of Mari Eckhardt's individual approach and the band's unique sound creates an experience that is well received by the fans. Not only is the musical ability valued, but also the authentic, uncomplicated way in which the musicians perform.
