The anticipation for this year's Plüderhäuser festival is growing: the popular duck race, a traditionally festive event in Plüderhausen, will take place on July 26th. The sale of the participants, consisting of a total of 1,000 bright yellow racing ducks, begins on June 28th. This edition of the popular spectacle is the 22nd of its kind and promises to be a highlight of the entire festival. The Zvw reports that the race has its starting point at the Mittlere Brücke, while the coveted finish is at the Neue Heuseebrücke.
This is an ideal opportunity for participants and spectators to get involved in the exciting events. The rules for the race and the prizes are still being published so that everyone interested can start well prepared.
A colorful supporting program
On the first day of the festival, July 26th, the extensive program begins at 2 p.m. with entertaining the guests. At 2:15 p.m. the district youth music festival of the Rems-Murr brass youth group will celebrate its premiere in the festival tent. Various youth bands perform here, including:

- Jugendstadtkapelle Murrhardt
- JuKa Plüderhausen/Urbach
- JuKa des MV Reichenberg
- Jugendkapelle MV Leutenbach
The grand finale will be celebrated in the late afternoon with a full choir of all young musicians.
Additionally, the duck race will start at 2:30 p.m., followed by the award ceremony for the fastest ducks at around 4:15 p.m. The Puhački orkestar from Lovran, Croatia will be heard from 6:00 p.m. A special highlight of the evening follows at 8:00 p.m. when the party band VolXX Liga performs. Their slogan, “Every VolXX League party is a VolXX celebration,” illustrates the festive mood. To celebrate the day, visitors are invited to dress in dirndls or lederhosen and in return can receive a free gingerbread themed heart while stocks last. The Pluefest thus offers a colorful and varied experience for young and old.
