Parking fees in the Rems-Murr district are rising: New system ensures order!
In the Rems-Murr district, drivers are facing new challenges: parking is becoming more expensive. With the opening of a new underground car park at the district office, new parking regulations will also be introduced. The changes particularly affect the two underground car parks of the district office and the vocational schools. In a recent report by ZVW The new “Freeflow” parking system is presented. This system enables automatic scanning of the car's license plate upon entry, followed by cashless payment after entering the license plate.
Another plus of the new parking system is the relief at the exits, which will make traffic jams at the underground car park barriers a thing of the past. With these measures, the administration wants to make the use of parking spaces more efficient and at the same time cause less stress for those looking for a parking space.
Craftsman parking permit for more flexibility
On January 17, 2022, a uniform craftsman parking permit was introduced in the Rems-Murr district. Loud remm-murr-kreis.de This ID card aims to make work easier for craft businesses that work at several locations in the district. Previously, tradesmen had to apply for their own parking permit for each location from the respective municipality. The new district-wide parking permit enables cross-area use without separate permits for each municipality.
Some advantages of this card are the reduction of bureaucracy and the promotion of digitalization in public administration. After a one-year pilot phase, it will also be examined whether the ID card can be expanded to other professional groups, such as midwives or nursing staff. In the long term, there are even plans to introduce a uniform ID card for the entire Stuttgart region.
Application and costs
The craftsman parking permit can be applied for digitally via the ServiceBW administration platform or in person, by post or fax from the city and municipal administrations. After approval, a digital invoice will be created, which entitles the holder to issue the ID card immediately after payment has been received. The ID card is valid for one year and costs 50 euros. It can be issued for up to three vehicles.
