Pop-up editorial office in Leutenbach: Come by and have a chat!

On September 23, 2025, the pop-up editorial office of the Waiblingen newspaper publisher will start in the Löwensaal on Nellmersbacher Straße (Löwenplatz) in Leutenbach. This innovative format aims to promote direct exchange between journalists and local citizens. Local editor Tobias Klecker as well as colleagues from the Winnen local editorial team and the marketing team will be available on site from Monday to Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The concept of pop-up editorial offices is seen as a central measure to strengthen local journalism. Readers should be encouraged to share their fears, wishes and hopes in an informal setting. [Zvw.de].

Insights into success strategies

The pop-up newsrooms are part of a broader strategy to revitalize local journalism. According to BDZV, local newspapers must actively reach out to their readers in order to be able to report on relevant stories. This is also reflected in the results so far: five pop-up editorial offices have generated more than 200 new e-paper subscriptions and received over 1,000 orders for print and e-paper samples.

What is particularly interesting is that different pricing models for the samples are tested during these events. The conversion rate from free samples to paid subscriptions is between 15% and 20%, depending on the respective offer. This underlines the need to comprehensively explain the e-paper as a product and demonstrate it on site - a challenge that should not be underestimated in the digital age.

Through these measures, the Waiblingen newspaper publisher hopes to increase reader loyalty and convey a contemporary image of local journalism. In times when digital media is becoming increasingly important, personal contact with readers is more important than ever.
