Sarstedt: Athletics meeting inspires young and old to sweat!
The Sarstedter Sparkasse athletics meeting is an integral part of the seasonal calendar of many track and field athletes from Lower Saxony. This year the competition took place under the direction of the local clubs FSV and TKJ, supported by the Sparkasse Hildesheim Goslar Peine. Athletes of all ages were able to look forward to exciting disciplines such as sprinting, long jump, rounders, pole vault, javelin throw and the traditional 1500 meter run.
Over 60 volunteers worked to ensure that the competition ran smoothly, in which numerous participants from various locations such as Eichsfeld, Groß Buchholz, Schöningen and Göttingen took part. The athletes were able to demonstrate their skills and the results were impressive.
Outstanding performances by the athletes
In the women's class, Neele Hebel (TKJ) secured victory in the 1500 meter run. Milla Pflugradt (FSV) demonstrated her strength in the 800-meter run, while Lilit Korb (FSV) showed in both the high jump and the W15 shot put that she is among the top nationally. Victory in the U20 shot put went to Oliver Potthast (U20).
Among the young people, Armin Kollmeyer (TKJ) stood out, winning the M15 high jump with 1.67 meters and the long jump with 5.21 meters. Klara Härke (TKJ) impressed with a pole vault of 3.85 meters. In addition, Simon Quaedvlieg (TKJ) won the U18 high jump and Jannik Ostwaldt (TKJ) won the javelin throw with 46.39 meters.
Versatile results
The competitions resulted in a total of over 50 podium places for the athletes and demonstrated the high performance of the participating clubs. Matteo Carceles (TKJ) secured third place in the M8 batting ball with 23 meters. Johann cube (FSV) was also able to hold his own in the nine-year-old boys' batting ball with 31 meters.
In the M10, Sverre Lauenstein (FSV) shone with victories in the 50-meter sprint, long jump and ball. Noah Maus (TKJ) came second in the M11, while Samuel Radestock (TKJ) won the 800-meter run in the M12 and came third in the 75-meter run. Maximilian Maiwald (TKJ) was the fastest in the 100 meter M14 sprint, but had to settle for second place in the high jump.
The meeting had a high level of entertainment value not only for the athletes but also for the spectators. Both clubs were very satisfied with the sporting results and the organization of the competition.
The organizers are already planning further events to further support the athletes in the summer and to offer a varied sporting program. This will be the next highlight in the region Sparkasse Indoor Meeting Dortmund on January 20th, when many top athletes will celebrate a comeback after injury breaks.
