The Roman Kirbe is currently being celebrated in Rommelshausen, a district of Kernen in the Rems-Murr district. The event, which lasts until Sunday evening, offers visitors a colorful program of market, stage performances and hands-on activities. The ceremonial opening took place on Friday, and Herbert Heissenberger took on this task because Mayor Benedikt Paulowitsch was unable to attend. The Römer Kirbe has established itself as a popular meeting place for locals and guests, bringing the community together and celebrating traditions. A special highlight is the Krämermarkt, which offers a variety of food and drinks with its numerous stalls. The Rommelshausen rural women are particularly active in this regard and serve over 30 home-baked cakes and tarts. This commitment shows how deeply rooted the region's traditions are and how important these festivals are for the feeling of community.
Stage program and events
The stage program attracts with various performances: On Saturday, visitors can enjoy performances by local clubs from 2:30 p.m., followed by the bands EdelRock, which will perform at 6:30 p.m., and Replay from 8 p.m. Sunday traditionally begins with an ecumenical service at 10 a.m. and a children's flea market from 11 a.m. The Rommelshausen accordion orchestra will provide musical entertainment during the morning pint. Another highlight is the premiere of the new Kernen anthem “50 Years of Kernen in Remstal”, which will take place in the Kirbezelt at 4:30 p.m. The musical conclusion of the festival will be provided by the Stetten Music Association and the well-known band Die Lausbuba.
