Israel under rocket fire: The air force in constant use!
The military conflict between Israel and Iran continues after rocket fire from Iran was reported this morning, June 14, 2025. The night before there had been rocket alerts in several regions of Israel and the Israeli Air Force was deployed to intercept the attacks and carry out counterattacks of their own. According to Stuttgarter Nachrichten, at least 63 people in Israel had to receive medical treatment because of the attacks.
The situation escalated on June 13, 2025, when Iran responded to Israeli bombings with a massive rocket attack. Tagesschau reports that fewer than 100 rockets were fired at Israel in a short period of time. Several people were injured during the attacks, with 21 injured, including two seriously. Israeli military spokesmen also reported a “limited number” of hits on buildings and described damage caused by debris from the intercepted projectiles.
Damage and reactions
Vital infrastructure was affected by the attacks. Alarms blared in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as firefighters battled fire that broke out in a high-rise building in the Dan region. The population was asked to go to shelters to protect themselves from the attacks. In addition, Iranian anti-aircraft defense reported shooting down at least two Israeli fighter jets, which Israel denied.
Iran is targeting dozens of military targets and air bases in its missile attacks. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threatened “revenge” for the Israeli attacks. These attacks include, among other things, targeted attacks on the nuclear facility in Isfahan, which Israel says was damaged. Israel itself had targeted military installations in Tehran and other strategic objects in the previous days. This led to the killing of senior military and academics in Iran, including the Iranian army chief and the head of the Revolutionary Guard.
International context
Tensions between the two countries have increased significantly in recent weeks. The USA is supporting Israel in repelling the rocket attacks, which brings with it further international pressure and possible consequences. The situation remains tense and further escalations and military confrontations can still be expected.
