Volunteer pioneer Klaus Hinderer celebrates 70 years of life's work in Alfdorf!
Klaus Hinderer from Alfdorf celebrated his 70th birthday on October 23, 2025. The celebration took place at the weekend with family, friends and former colleagues. Hinderer is known for his decades-long commitment to Alfdorf and was described by well-wishers as a sincere and honest person. Its diverse activities reflect the broad spectrum of volunteer work that attracts more than 16.9 million people in Germany, as statistics show Statista reported.
Over the years, Hinderer has made a significant impact in his community. He was not only one of the main initiators of the “MAU – Circumnavigating Alfdorf Together” project, which took place in 2022, but also the initiator and driver of the citizens’ mobile. He also held the office of chairman of TSV Alfdorf and the Rems-Stuttgart handball district and was active as a referee. His involvement also extends to the refugee working group as well as his work as a municipal and district councilor and deputy mayor Gmünder daily post writes.
A life of service to the community
Klaus Hinderer has worked successfully in the police service for over 44 years, including 14 years as head of public relations in the Waiblingen police department and the Aalen police headquarters. During this time he not only shouldered responsibility, but also mastered numerous challenges. Particularly worth mentioning is the hostility that Hinderer experienced during his involvement in the local council, especially during the construction of the new multi-purpose hall. A year ago, after 25 years on the local council, he no longer stood for the Free Voters and is now giving up his refereeing duties after 55 years ZVW reported.
Nevertheless, Hinderer remains active. Among other things, he is involved in the community bus and the hut meeting. In his free time he even went on impressive tours, such as a ride on an e-bike from Salzburg to the Adriatic. He is also challenged as a grandfather because he has two grandchildren who bring him a lot of joy.
Wishes for the future
When asked about his wishes for the new year of life, Hinderer said that health for himself and his family was particularly important to him. His life's work represents not only personal commitment, but also the sense of community that is fostered through volunteer work - an essential component of an active society.
