New youth advisory board in Sachsenheim: A breath of fresh air for young people!
The new youth advisory board, which consists of a mix of old and new members, introduces itself in Sachsenheim. Beyond the previous membership, which included Ayham Hamaydeh and Umut Yumusak, the newly elected members – Arezu Rezai, Marlene Heinrich, Valeria Redepi and Davide D’Angelo – will be announced this week. The representatives of the youth center, Joulan Hamaydeh and Ömer Adiyaman, were also named, while the Kraichertschule did not send its own candidates into the race. The youth advisory board itself will in future be represented by Lavinia Bruer, Jasmin Bercher, Lilly Denndörfer, Sarah Notter and Simeon Nestoras.
As bietigheimerzeitung.de reports, the preliminary selection of the new members must be confirmed by the local councilors of the city of schools in July. The constituent meeting of the new youth advisory board is scheduled for July 28th. Michaela Glemser is responsible for the organization and coordination of the advisory board.
New regulations and replacement procedures
An important aspect of the new regulations is the provision that if a member leaves early, any deputy can step in as a member with voting rights. This flexible solution is intended to ensure that the youth advisory board always remains complete and can therefore work effectively.
The youth advisory board consists of at least five and a maximum of eleven members, as is also described on the Tutzing youth advisory board website. Elected members must also provide proof of safety in youth work, which must be renewed regularly. Associations with youth work and certain schools have the right to nominate members for election, which enables a wide range of representatives.
Another interesting aspect is that a member of the youth advisory board loses their mandate if they are elected to the local council or no longer have their main residence in Tutzing. In such cases, a new member is chosen who received the most votes among the unelected candidates in the last election. If there are no suitable candidates, the mandate will remain vacant until the next election.
Role of the youth representative
The Youth Advisory Board elects its chairmen and deputies with an absolute majority. At least one of these positions should be held by a woman or a man. The youth representative of the municipality of Tutzing takes part in the meetings in an advisory capacity and can bring in additional experts if necessary to support the work of the advisory board.
These developments demonstrate the commitment of the city of Sachsenheim and comparable communities to listen to the voices of young people and actively include them in local decision-making processes. The new regulations and the composition of the youth advisory board are intended to ensure that the interests of young people can be better represented in the future, which is of great importance for social participation.
