Noise reduction in Oberstefeld: Speed limits on important roads!

An important step to improve the quality of life was recently taken at the meeting of the Oberstedfeld municipal council. The noise action plan, which aims to reduce traffic noise pollution caused by excessive speeds, has been updated. A central goal is to noticeably reduce the burden of traffic noise in the community. This demonstrates the community's commitment to responding to the needs of residents and creating a pleasant environment.

The plan calls for speed restrictions to be introduced on two important routes in the Gronau district. On state road 1117, which includes Marbacher Straße and Hauptstraße, the maximum speed will be reduced to 40 km/h. The speed limit should also be 40 on Schmidhausener Straße (K1616). These measures have the potential to both increase road safety and significantly reduce noise. The draft noise action plan was already adopted in April, while the last update took place in February 2022.

Public participation and next steps

A representative of the engineering firm Kurz and Fischer presented the results of a public participation process to the local council. This shows the municipality's transparent approach to actively involving residents and stakeholders in the planning process. The noise action plan is currently in its fourth stage, which is required due to legal requirements.

Although the current variant does not provide for any additional measures for Oberstefeld and Prevorst, the road traffic authority of the Ludwigsburg district office has already signaled that the proposed speed reductions on the routes mentioned can be approved. It remains to be hoped that this will lead to a noticeable reduction in noise and thus improve the quality of life of citizens.

Additional information on the use of technologies

In a world driven by technology, it is important to stay up to date with digital tools. One of the more recent developments is the use of WhatsApp Web, which makes it possible to use WhatsApp directly in a computer's browser. This brings advantages such as easy typing with a physical keyboard and easy file sharing between computer and cell phone.

Even though WhatsApp Web originally worked as a mirror of the mobile app, users can now even access it offline or with their cell phone switched off. An individual can connect their WhatsApp account to up to four devices at the same time. To facilitate access, a QR code is used that can be scanned in just a few steps. An official WhatsApp page here provides detailed information about the access steps, which also vary on different devices such as Android and iPhone.

By combining advances in the general living environment and the use of modern technologies, the municipality of Oberstefeld strives for both a pleasant living environment and improved digital communication for its citizens. This reflects a holistic approach to promoting quality of life and usability in the modern world.
