District league drama: Steinbach signs star and coach change at SGM!

On July 3, 2025, football in the region will be marked by numerous changes. SC Steinbach Comburg has signed Pascal Hopf, who will play as a striker and central offensive player for the team in the future. Hopf, born on August 26, 1993, brings experience from previous positions at FC Honhardt, Spfr. Schwäbisch Hall and TSV Crailsheim. This commitment is intended to give the team in the A3 Rems/Murr/Hall district league new impetus, as Fupa reports.

Another significant change took place at SGM Althausen/Ebenweiler. After the dismissal of coach Safet Hyseni, Jürgen Steinhauser, Andi Pfeiffer and Niki Schnell take over the first team in the Upper Swabia district league. The previous season was extremely challenging for the team, with many departures and seven injured starters. The qualifying round ended in last place with just three points, and in the relegation round they reached 10th place at the winter break.

Challenges for the SGM Althausen/Ebenweiler

After the coaching change, the team was able to collect 22 points from 13 games in the second half of the season under the new coaches Jens Rädel and Andi Pfeiffer and ultimately ended the season in 7th place. However, this was not enough to stay in the league and the club had to be relegated to the district league A. Jonas Eninger and Niki Schnell have taken over the sporting management for the coming 2025/26 season. The coaching team remains unchanged with Jens Rädel, Andi Pfeiffer and goalkeeping coach Josef Eckel. The aim is to start again with a young, talented team, supported by six A-youth players as well as the new additions Hannes Bodenmüller (SV Ebersbach) and Benjamin Klamert (FC Wacker Biberach).

TV Flein in the B2 Franconia district league has also integrated fresh talent from its own A-youth into the active area. The new players – Felix Hietzker, Konstantinos Kanakis and Tuna Kara – should give the team fresh impetus.

Change to the district league A Upper Swabia

In the A III Oberschwaben district league, FC Bellamont has recorded several additions from its own A youth team. Benjamin Miller, Philip Vogel, Marian Merk, Tim Kuhn, Janik Vogel and Lukas Hirscher are the new faces in the team. The departure list includes Uwe Martin, Florian Uetz, Marcel Kuhl and Niklas Koch, all of whom have ended their careers. The new coach Andreas Kaiser takes over the management from Daniel Brücher, while Roman Korntheuer stands next to him as an assistant coach. The goal for the season will be a secured midfield, with FC Wacker Biberach considered the championship favorite.

BSC Berkheim has signed new players with Yannick Heß (previously inactive) and their own youth players Noah Brugger, Elias Kohler and Fabian Göppel. Under coach Jochen Bauer, the club wants to play attractive football and is aiming for a better placement than last season (10th place), while VfB Gutenzell is considered the favorite for the championship.

FC Wacker Biberach is experiencing a change. The club has not announced any new arrivals, but there are a few departures to deal with, including Mehmet Sahin and Jürgen Michel. After being relegated from the district league, the team under coach Marcin Zukowski has the ambition to fight for promotion.

The changes in the region show that clubs are motivated to reposition themselves for the upcoming season and achieve their goals. Whether through fresh talent from the youth ranks or new coaches – the coming months promise exciting developments in regional football.
