Porsche Turbo Awards 2025: Young talents shine in Stuttgart!

On June 2, 2025, the outstanding talents from the Porsche partner clubs were honored at the Porsche Turbo Awards. The event, which took place for the tenth time, honored young players in the categories “Best Athletic Development”, “Best Academic Performance” and “Extraordinary Social Commitment”.

Porsche held the awards as part of the “Turbo for Talents” program, which has long been dedicated to promoting youth. Three players from seven partner clubs were honored at the award ceremony. The winners not only received a personalized award and a certificate, but also a driving license subsidy of 500 euros. An exclusive tour of the Porsche Museum rounded off the program, which was led by brand ambassador Sami Khedira, who gave the young athletes valuable insights.

Award winners in focus

The award for “Best Sporting Development” went to talents like Tiago Pereira Cardoso, who recently passed his high school diploma and made his debut in the Bundesliga. Also honored were Henk Hartisch for his leadership role in the U15 team at FC Erzgebirge Aue, Pascal Widmann, who has continuously developed as a defender at the SC Bietigheim-Bissingen Steelers, and Julian Schmidt, who was nominated as top scorer in the Porsche Football Cup 2022. Other award winners in this category were Julis Baumer, Arion Selimi, who celebrated a comeback after a year-long absence due to injury, and Florian Hellstern, who was successful as captain of VfB Stuttgart's U19 team in the UEFA Youth League.

The “Best School Achievement” category honored Jannik Oettinger from VfB Stuttgart, Cedric Kurzweg from FC Erzgebirge Aue, Konrad Knot from SC Bietigheim-Bissingen and Marko Masic, who plays in the 3rd ProB league and masters the double burden. Edin Biber from Borussia Mönchengladbach impressed with his academic improvement and his nomination for the Croatian U16 national team. Valentin Zabransky from the Red Bull Football Academy Salzburg and Luka Petkovic from the Stuttgarter Kickers were also honored for their outstanding achievements.

Commitment beyond sport

Another focus of the awards was on “Extraordinary Social Commitment”. Niklas Pintur, Eneko Haug-Alonso, Hermann Ratz, Erik Corominas, Jakob Zangerl, Tino Lennerth and David Eggenweiler were honored here. They have all been involved in various social projects, be it by supporting well construction projects in Tanzania or by looking after younger players.

The event was attended by Porsche junior Theo Oeverhaus and Bundesliga debutant Tiago Pereira Cardoso, who reported on their own experiences and encouraged the young talents to pursue their dreams. Theo Oeverhaus, who is currently the leader in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, spoke about his passion for motorsport and urged the award winners to never give up.

The Porsche Turbo Awards 2025 have once again highlighted the importance of promoting talent in sport and shown that commitment and performance go far beyond the playing field. The coming years promise to showcase similar successes and inspiring stories of the talent that will be crucial to the future of German football.
