Talents of the Ostalb: 17-year-old trombonist shines in the summer concert!

On Sunday, July 6th, the summer concert of the Aalen Symphony Orchestra will take place in the Aalen town hall. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free, although donations are welcome. The concert promises to be a highlight in the region's cultural scene as it offers the talented 17-year-old trombonist Elias Möll from Heubach the opportunity to make his debut as a soloist. Loud Swabian Post Möll has won numerous awards in the national “Jugend musiziert” competition, including in the trombone solo category in 2024.

His solo piece will be the Concertino in E flat major op. 4 for trombone and orchestra by Ferdinand David. In this context points Schwäbische.de points out that the concert program also includes Mendelssohn's overture “The Hebrides”, inspired by a visit to Fingal's Cave in Scotland, and César Franck's powerful Symphony in D minor. Both pieces will captivate audiences with their rich orchestral sound.

Talents of the Aalen Symphony Orchestra

Elias Möll has been part of the Aalen Symphony Orchestra for eleven years, which is an interesting mix of amateurs, professional musicians and students from the Aalen Music School. He has been playing in the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra since 2022 and in the Federal Youth Orchestra since 2024. His musical development has been remarkable since he won first place with his brother at the Karel Kunc Music Competition in 2022.

Conductor Manuel Töws, who has led the orchestra since September 2023, is looking forward to the upcoming concert. With the Aalen Symphony Orchestra he has developed a repertoire that ranges from baroque music to modern compositions, with a focus on the symphonic works and solo concerts of the Viennese Classical and Romantic periods.

The concert not only provides a stage for young talents like Elias Möll, but also contributes to the cultural diversity in the region. Further information about the Aalen Symphony Orchestra is available online at www.aalener-sinfonieorchester.de to find.
