New arrivals in football: talents and comebacks in the region!
Today, May 28, 2025, there is some exciting news from the world of football, especially in the lower leagues in Germany. SV Rohrau from the Württemberg Regional League, Season 2, said a big thank you to Jonny via Instagram. The player has made an impressive 250 appearances for the club since the 2018/19 season and is now set to make a comeback after a lengthy injury layoff. The fans and the club hope for many more games with him.
There are also personnel changes in the A2 Enz/Murr district league: SKV Rutesheim II has signed 20-year-old goalkeeper Davide Drlje, who comes from SV Magstadt. Before his time at Magstadt, Drlje was already active at TSF Ditzingen and Spvgg Renningen. SV Gebersheim also welcomes a new player: David Lutz moves from TSF Ditzingen as a central midfielder and promises to bring a breath of fresh air into the team.
Is the offspring coming?
SSV Schwäbisch Hall has signed the talented 19-year-old Leandro Mlinaric, who most recently played in VfR Aalen's A youth team. Mlinaric also brings experience from TSG Hoffenheim's U17 Bundesliga and could be a valuable addition to the Schwäbisch Haller offensive.
In the A3 Enz/Murr district league, Spvgg Bissingen can keep the two veterans Lukas Dautel and Luca Widmann in the team for another season. This continuity could have a positive impact on the team's performance.
Current challenges in the football district
Unfortunately, part of the latest news is the cancellation of a game in the Rems/Murr/Hall football district. The game between SV Tüngental and TSV Hessental had to be canceled due to a lack of players. In addition, several sports court rulings were published, which led to scores of 3:0 for various games.
Things will also be exciting at a higher level: The German Football Association (DFB) is calling for nominations of committed club employees for the DFB Volunteer Award. Nominations can be submitted until May 31, 2025. Dieter Brenner and Werner Hermann are available as contact persons for further information.
Global transfer market in football
If you look beyond the German leagues, you can see that the transfer period in global professional football continues to be dynamic. Clubs have the option to loan, buy or sell players, with transfer fees varying widely. Only a few clubs are able to raise three-digit millions for players. Examples such as the transfer of Neymar for 222 million euros from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 are often cited as a benchmark. In the current season, Jhon Durán moved from Aston Villa to Al-Nassr for around 77 million euros.
The Premier League currently leads the highest spending in Europe, with around €2.8 billion spent on player transfers in the 2024/2025 season. The Bundesliga also has high transfer expenses, but is struggling with a deficit this season where expenses have exceeded income. Bayern Munich has the highest transfer spending in the Bundesliga at 149 million euros and signed, among others, Michael Olise from Olympique Marseille.
The attractiveness of the transfer market remains unbroken. Another example is how the Saudi Pro League has been able to attract many world stars in recent years. Despite the high expenditure, the question remains whether these investments are also associated with sporting success.
