Recycling center Wertheim: Dispose of refrigerators safely and avoid fines!

The Main-Tauber-Kreis waste management company (AWMT) carries out a separate collection of refrigerators and freezers. This is done for important reasons as these devices contain harmful coolants and refrigeration oils that must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. The recently set up collection points in the region, supported by the district's cities and municipalities, enable citizens to hand in their old devices without any problems. The AWMT takes care of the proper disposal.

The next option for free disposal of refrigerators in Wertheim is on Friday, June 13th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the recycling center on Hafenstrasse in Bestenheid. This free drop-off takes place at least once a month at the collection points during opening hours. However, leaving old refrigerators in front of collection points or in metal containers is considered an administrative offense and can be punished with a fine, warn the authorities. In addition, refrigerators are no longer taken as part of bulky waste collection, which underlines the need to use the collection points.

Free drop-off and appointments

The possibility of returning refrigerators and freezers to collection points free of charge is a great advantage for citizens. This regulation aims to promote environmentally friendly disposal and avoid contamination of public areas. The AWMT informs that in addition to Wertheim, other cities such as Bad Mergentheim, Lauda-Königshofen and Weikersheim also regularly offer collection campaigns. In Bad Mergentheim, for example, collection will take place at the recycling center on Wilhelm-Frank-Straße on Thursday, May 16th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., while in Weikersheim on Friday, May 17th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., citizens can hand in their devices.

City Location Dates and times
Wertheim Recycling center Hafenstrasse Friday, June 13th, 3-6 p.m
Bad Mergentheim Recycling center Wilhelm-Frank-Straße 45 Thursday, May 16, 1-5 p.m
Weikersheim Recycling center Kelterstrasse Friday, May 17th, 2-4 p.m

AWMT's efforts not only ensure efficient disposal, but also contribute to environmental protection by ensuring that harmful substances are not released into the environment. Citizens are asked to adhere to the regulations and use the collection points provided to protect the environment.
