Today, June 24, 2025, there will be significant traffic disruptions on the A81 motorway in Bavaria, especially in the Gerchsheim area. As reported by news.de. Road renovation work is planned between Grundgraben and Spitalwald in the direction of Würzburg. The disruption will last from 9:13 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with increased traffic and congestion expected.
The construction site is 499 meters long and aims to maintain the infrastructure and adapt it to increasing traffic. Road users are asked to adapt their driving behavior accordingly to ensure safety for everyone involved. This information comes from the Central Traffic Management Office of the Bavarian State Building Directorate and indicates the need to continually improve road conditions in the region.

In addition to the current work at Gerchsheim, there are other construction sites on the A81 that should also be taken into account. According to verkehrslage.de, a night construction site will be carried out in the Engelberg tunnel, which is expected to last until August 3, 2025. The changed traffic routing means that the roadway is narrowed to one lane, which is why drivers must expect possible delays from 10 p.m.
The Stuttgart section towards Heilbronn is particularly affected, where only one lane is available due to tunnel maintenance work - with a maximum width of 3.25 meters. These restrictions apply until early morning every day.
In addition, maintenance work will also take place on the A81 in Horb am Neckar today. Here the right lane in the direction of Stuttgart is closed, which can cause additional delays.
