25 years of sweet tradition: Angelika Fischer impresses at the folk festival!

A special anniversary is being celebrated at the Teublitzer Volksfest this year. Angelika Fischer, known for her stand “Der Süße Fischer”, looks back on 25 years of participation in this traditional festival. Mayor Thomas Beer offered her warmest congratulations on the occasion of these celebrations and presented her with a certificate of honor as well as a present and a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation. The folk festival recently opened and runs until June 1, 2025.

Angelika Fischer is not only known for her sweet specialties such as roasted almonds, cotton candy, gingerbread hearts and chocolate skewers, but also for her commitment behind the scenes. She works closely with the city administration's organizational team and supports other showmen with valuable impulses and organizational help. Your stand has become an integral part of the folk festival in the city park.

More anniversaries

But Angelika Fischer is not the only showwoman who looks back on 25 years at the Teublitzer Volksfest. Marion Renner is also celebrating her anniversary. She comes from a traditional showman family from Grafenwöhr and was already active at the folk festival as a child. Renner managed the distribution of goods at the lottery booth for 22 years before she was represented with a dart cart for three years.

Another person celebrating is Heiko Perz from Fürth, who has been there with his popular bumper car for 25 years. For four years he has enriched the folk festival with the “Giga Greifer” toy shop. Both anniversaries also received an honor from Mayor Maria Steger and Thomas Stegerer, who presented them with gifts and bouquets of flowers.

The importance of confectionery

Sweets like those offered at Angelika Fischer's stand are an important attraction at folk festivals. These delicious specialties include not only roasted almonds and cotton candy, but also all sorts of other sweet treats such as nuts, chocolate-covered fruits and candy apples. Historically, simple stalls, used to sell baked goods, gingerbread and confectionery, were a common practice at festivals as early as the 20th century. These stalls had different roof shapes and many were richly decorated. Over the years, the display of stalls evolved, with the professional construction of confectionery stalls beginning with the introduction of specialist manufacturers in the 20th century.

The Teublitzer Volksfest therefore remains not only a place of entertainment and enjoyment for visitors, but also a valuable platform for tradition and the passing on of culinary customs. The anniversaries of Angelika Fischer, Marion Renner and Heiko Perz testify to the consistency and commitment of the showmen, who make the folk festival a special experience.
