Coach Maik Stingel, who was celebrated with a beer shower after the final whistle, was overjoyed about winning the cup. “The team earned this success throughout the entire season,” he explained. Although they narrowly missed out on direct qualification for the youth Bundesliga, winning the cup remains an outstanding result for the team.

Despite the deficit, the Reutlingen team showed impressive morale. In the 77th minute, Lino Kuhn equalized with a quickly taken free kick.
