Promotion break in Hochdorf: Eschenbach celebrates, Entlebuch disappoints!

Yesterday FC Hochdorf and Eschenbach had reason to celebrate in the promotion race to the regional 2nd league. Both teams secured promotion, while FC Entlebuch failed disappointingly. A game that had exciting twists and turns not only for the winners but also for the losers.

Entlebuch, which lost 1:3 in the decisive game against Kriens II, needed at least a draw to achieve the desired promotion. Entlebuch initially led 1-0, but they were unable to maintain their performance throughout the entire game. Kriens II scored the decisive 3-1 in the 67th minute, which abruptly ended FC Entlebuch's chances in the final. After the game, coach Beat Balmer was disappointed with his team's lack of consistency.

Rise for Hochdorf and Eschenbach

Meanwhile, FC Hochdorf celebrated a 3-1 win against Sins, crowning their season as champions of the 3rd league. Hochdorf's sports director, Michel Kohler, was pleased with the promotion, which is also seen as a reward for the players' excellent performance. But the coming season will be a challenge for Hochdorf: After promotion, the team will have to replace 17 players and also fill all coaching positions because the entire coaching staff is changing.

Eschenbach secured promotion in dramatic fashion by winning their game against Schwyz 5-2, with the decisive goal coming in stoppage time. The team was happy about the successful conclusion of a successful season and the opportunity to take part in the next league.
