Heart health in focus: Last clinic dialogue at the ALB FILS KLINIKUM!
On June 4, 2025, a special information event took place in the dining room of the Klinik am Eichert. According to the information from Filstal wave More than 50 participants from the district were present to learn more about the topic of cardiac arrhythmias. The lecturer was Professor Dr. Stephen Schröder, who organized the event together with his cardiology team at the ALB FILS KLINIKUMS. This event was also the last information event in the clinic's old building, as the hospital is scheduled to move to the new premises in July 2025.
The KlinikDialog events, which are organized by the cardiology department at the ALB FILS KLINIKUMS, have quickly developed into a popular information series since they began in 2009. The aim is to present the clinic's specialist expertise and promote personal exchange between doctors and interested parties. This year, ten events have already been held in the first half of the year, a notable increase compared to the six events per year at the beginning.
Increasing number of participants and openness to new paths
The KlinikDialog series has established itself as a real “export hit”. The number of listeners has increased from 30-40 people at the beginning to now often over 100. In January 2025, the event on osteoarthritis even reached a maximum number of 280 participants. This positive development is reflected in the almost 140 clinical dialogues that have been held since the series was introduced. In addition, collaborations with adult education centers in the district were established, so that events also took place in other cities such as Ebersbach, Süßen, Böhmenkirch and Deggingen.
The cardiology department at the ALB FILS KLINIKUMS offers its patients comprehensive medical care. As noted on the clinic's website, cardiac catheterization is available around the clock for acute heart attacks. The clinic has special expertise in electrophysiology, which includes the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Invasive electrophysiological examinations (EPU) are used to detect and treat complex arrhythmias. There is also the option of having pacemakers and defibrillators implanted.
Interdisciplinary collaboration and research
The cardiology clinic is equipped with 72 inpatient beds, some of which have monitors for telemetric monitoring of patients. There is also a day clinic with six beds for outpatient cardiac catheter examinations. The close collaboration with the central emergency room, the center for intensive care medicine as well as radiology and regional cardiac surgery underlines the facility's comprehensive care concept. In addition, the clinic is involved in international scientific studies, which emphasizes its role as an academic teaching hospital for the University of Ulm.
The next chapter of the KlinikDialog series will continue in September 2025 in the company restaurant of the new clinic. This promises to be an exciting continuation of the successful information offerings and another opportunity for citizens to find out about health topics and to address their questions directly to specialists.
