Sun Train of the Maltese: Unforgettable sea trips for 124 guests!
On May 31, 2025, the Maltesers in Nürtingen organized a special excursion in which 124 people with mobility restrictions were brought to Lake Constance. This initiative is part of the Maltese charity's wider efforts to provide support to people who find it difficult to leave their homes. Such trips allow participants not only to enjoy nature, but also to share their life stories and make new social contacts. Loud NTZ Around 130 volunteers were deployed to ensure that the trip was an unforgettable experience for both the guests and the helpers.
The Maltese ensured that the trip was planned in detail. The transfer in Friedrichshafen went smoothly and the participants were accompanied by coaches to the ships of the Lake Constance fleet. The loving care of the guests was a central part of the day, which made this excursion a very special event. It is gratifying to see how, through such events, the Maltese are coming closer to the goal of promoting self-determination and quality of life in the everyday lives of older people and people with limited mobility.
Voluntary support
The Maltesers have over 4,500 volunteers throughout Germany and offer numerous services to support people in difficult life situations. The offers range from discussions and joint activities to support in everyday life. These offers are particularly targeted at older people and those who are dependent on help due to mobility restrictions. These programs are designed to promote quality of life in the home and strengthen participants' self-determination.
