Ducati Multistrada V2 S: Readers test the new dream on two wheels!
On June 6, 2025, Ducati Germany invited MOTORRAD readers to an exciting test drive of the Ducati Multistrada V2 S. At this event, four reader testers, including Gudrun Stubbe, Günter Werner, Helmut Fuchs and Sebastian Salbego, were able to test the new model extensively. The motorcycles were picked up in Neuburg an der Donau at the end of April and the testers had a month to share their experiences.
The Multistrada V2 S features a powerful 116 hp two-cylinder engine and offers a number of technical features. These make driving a pleasure on both highways and winding country roads. The feedback from the testers was consistently positive, with everyone contributing individual preferences and experiences.
Experiences of the testers
Gudrun Stubbe, who was driving a BMW F 700 GS, covered a total of 3,500 kilometers. Her first tour took her from Neuburg to Plochingen, where she achieved a top speed of 220 km/h. She was particularly positive about the quickshifter and the pleasant seating comfort; despite one-off starting problems, she gave the engine a reliable rating.
Helmut Fuchs, who drives a BMW F 800 GS, reported on his 2,400 test kilometers, some of which he covered in the rain. With his daily commute of 130 kilometers, he had plenty of opportunities to test the Multistrada's handling. He praised the positive road holding and handling, especially in wet mode. Its consumption was also pleasing at 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
Sebastian Salbego, who is familiar with a Kawasaki Versys 650, rode a total of 1,700 kilometers. Its main tests took place on the highway, including in heavy rain. While there were initial difficulties with the quickshifter, these quickly turned out to be overcome. He commented positively on the acceleration and sound of the motorcycle, even if the seat occasionally slipped.
Günter Werner, who drives a Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200, was able to look back on 4,000 kilometers. His tours took him, among other places, from Neuburg to Solnhofen and on day trips to the Swabian Alb. He was particularly positive about the weight, handling and chassis of the new model, but criticized the lack of heated grips and a main stand.
Technical details and pricing
The Multistrada V2 S is the successor to the Multistrada 950 and offers a variety of technical updates while retaining the characteristic V2 charm. With a wheelbase that is 3 cm longer than that of the Multistrada V4 and a front-wheel-oriented seating position, driving comfort is guaranteed for both driver and passenger. The model is available in red and gray-black, with the price being 16,990 euros for the V2 S and 14,390 euros for the V2 (red only).
Versatile driving modes, an electronic “Skyhook” chassis and a 5-inch color TFT cockpit are some of the outstanding features. The Multistrada V2 S also offers the latest safety technology with cornering ABS and sure-footed 8-fold traction control. Consumption is 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers, which enables a range of around 339 km with a 20 liter tank. The usual good workmanship and the brand-typical Ducati feeling round off the overall package.
Overall, the test shows that the Ducati Multistrada V2 S met expectations and impressed the testers with its comfort, driving performance and technical sophistication. Motorsport enthusiasts can look forward to a proven, strong model that is ideal for both touring and everyday use.
