Drama at the Ferrari Challenge: Vangala fights, Cavers triumphs!

On June 21, 2025, the first race of the Trofeo Pirelli took place at the legendary Brands Hatch Circuit. In the Trofeo Pirelli, driver Pranav Vangala from HR Owen secured second place. Despite a disappointing start in which he initially remained in third place, Vangala fought through several laps and finally overtook Paul Simmerson. Unfortunately the race was shortened by four minutes, preventing Vangala from catching leader Gilbert Yates. However, he expressed overall satisfaction with the result and the opportunities the race offered. Ferrari reports that Vangala remained combative in the crucial moments of the race.

Graypaul Birmingham's Paul Simmerson took third place. He had a good qualifying, but wasn't as quick as the day before and started from third position. Simmerson made a solid start and overtook Vangala in the first half of the race. He gave way to Vangala in the Druids and Graham Hill corners, but there was a critical situation in the Surtees corner where Vangala pushed him onto the grass. Simmerson expects exciting further races and appreciates the ongoing competition in the Trofeo Pirelli.

Successful continuation in the Ferrari Challenge

The Trofeo Pirelli racing is part of the wider Ferrari Challenge event, which recently continued at Silverstone in the UK. Here Carl Cavers from Graypaul Nottingham took first place with a strong performance. Cavers dominated the race, consistently keeping his opponents at bay and increasing his lead to up to four seconds in just five laps. This impressed not only the spectators, but also the competition in the title fight, which included Charles Hurst's Andrew Morrow, who took second place. Club Alfa reports that Cavers collected important points in the title race with a qualifying time of 2:04.286.

Paul Simmerson won again in the Coppa Shell and thus took the top position in the overall ranking. After an initial overtake in which Robert Rees took the lead from Dick Lovett, Simmerson was able to regain his position following the near miss and the subsequent intervention of the Safety Car. His continued performance not only secured him victory, but also crucial points for the championship.

Looking into the future

The next Ferrari Challenge event will take place in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium from September 15th to 17th, 2025. The course is known for its demanding curves and will certainly provide a fascinating backdrop for further races. The drivers are already preparing intensively for this highlight of the racing season, while the distribution of points in the various classes is becoming increasingly exciting.

For spectators and fans of the Ferrari Challenge, it remains to be seen how the championship will develop over the course of the further races. An exciting competition is on the horizon, and the next challenges will show whether the drivers maintain their positions or whether surprises await us.
