Teckbotenpokal 2029: TSV Jesingen steps in for Kirchheim!

The Teckbotenpokal, a popular football tournament in the region, will continue to be held in Notzingen, Dettingen, Weilheim and Neidlingen until 2028. TSV Jesingen can take part in the event in 2029 after TG Kirchheim cannot take on this task. The Jesingers already acted as organizers last year and reintroduced the tournament in 2019 after a break since 2009.

The first edition of this year's tournament took place in the Jesinger Lehenäckern and brought the Kirchheim district league newcomers a historic victory. They defeated Sportfreunde Dettingen 4-3 after a thrilling penalty shootout in front of 2,350 enthusiastic spectators. This triumph was the first time the Kirchheim team had won the Teckbotenpokal. There were also exciting moments in the small final, in which TSV Weilheim won the penalty shootout for third place.

Successful individual players

When it came to the individual awards, Kögler stood out as he was honored with top scorer, while Dravetz was named the tournament's best keeper. A notable participant in this edition was the player-coach of Sportfreunde Dettingen, who became the top scorer for his team with twelve goals. The goalkeeper from AC Catania, who was described as the “penalty killer” and made a decisive contribution to the exciting final, also impressed.

In total, the teams scored 18 goals during the fifth day of the tournament, resulting in a remarkable total of 127 goals throughout the tournament. In addition to the two finalists, the quarterfinalists also included teams such as SGOH, TSV Notzingen, AC Catania, TV Neidlingen and VfL Kirchheim.

Future of the tournament

The organizers for the tournament years from 2030 onwards have not yet been determined. However, some clubs, including VfL Kirchheim and TSV Ohmden, have already expressed non-binding interest. TSV Ohmden plans to use the proceeds from the Teckbotenpokal to renovate its artificial turf in the mountain forest. Interested clubs can now apply informally for the tournaments from 2030 at Lokalsport@teckbote.de.

The Kreissparkasse honored the fair play winners during the event, with the teams from TSV Ötlingen I and II as well as SGM Alb&Tal receiving awards. This shows once again that fairness and sporting performance are closely linked and are very important in the Teckbotenpokal.
