RSG Zollern-Alb is celebrating: Young talent shines at the Alb Gold Cup in Neckartenzlingen!
The Alb-Gold Juniors Cup 2023, which was also held as the Baden-Württemberg state championship for age groups from U13 onwards, took place in Neckartenzlingen. The event offered the young drivers an excellent platform to demonstrate their talents. In the bright autumn weather, the Dowe Simplon team from RSG Zollern-Alb particularly shone with strong performances.
The results of the individual age categories show the promising talents within the team. In the U15 female category, Marlene Bilger managed to achieve an excellent second place, capping her consistent and impressive season. In the U17 male competition, David Schempp took third place, while his teammate Hendrik Krüger took sixth place. Maximilian Wagenstetter, however, was unlucky as he had to end the race early due to two punctures. Despite this setback, the support team expressed satisfaction with the performance of the drivers and the end of the season overall.
Outlook for next season
After a successful end to the season, the young drivers are now taking a break from training. Preparations for the 2026 season are set to begin in early November, which represents an exciting time for the young athletes. The coming months will be used to develop new strategies and further improve the technology.
Competition conditions and organization
The event was part of an extensive competition that also included the Reudern MTB Cup 2021, which took place on October 9, 2021. This competition, organized by the Reudern Abt. RAD 1913 e.V. sports club, included different classes from U7 to U17 and offered special races for each age group. The organization was carefully planned to offer participants a safe and varied racing experience, including track training and a supporting program for the younger drivers.
The application modalities and fees were clearly regulated. For U7 and U9 the entry fee was 5 euros, while for U11, U13 and U15 it was between 9 and 11 euros. This type of structured event not only promotes competition, but also community among young athletes.
