TSV Linsenhofen masters a thrilling derby - Frickenhausen is over!

TSV Linsenhofen (TSVL) won a thrilling derby against FC Frickenhausen II (FCF II) in the district football league A, season 2. After a tough 0-2 deficit, the team led by coaching duo Marco Rapp and Eric Hess was able to win the game 4-2. This leaves the TSVL with hope of staying in the league, while the defeat for FCF II means that relegation is sealed. The game took place on May 22, 2025 and was a true test of character for the team. There are now only two games left until the end of the season.

However, the decision about relegation will be influenced by further developments in the league. Currently, three relegated teams have already been confirmed one match day before the end of the season: TSV Neuenhaus, TSV Raidwangen and TSV Linsenhofen. It was originally planned that only four teams would be relegated, but the association has decided to increase the number of direct relegations to five. This causes a great deal of incomprehension among the affected clubs that have lodged an objection, including TSV Altdorf. The representatives of the clubs, including FCF II, met in the TSV Altdorf sports center to protest together against the changes, which are perceived as anti-competitive.

Relegation regulations cause controversy

Dietmar Kohler, department head of TSV Altdorf, criticized the WFV's decision as incomprehensible and suggested that the district league relegated teams such as TV Neidlingen and TSV Weilheim be regrouped into other seasons. These measures became necessary because the number of relegated teams in other seasons was reduced, while the number in District League A, Season 2 was increased. The affected clubs see this as unequal and unfair, especially in view of the new regulations.

In the current final table of the league, the teams from the bottom of the table have reached an important position before the last match day. FC Frickenhausen II and TSVL were among the teams that still had to fight for points in the relegation battle, but the unrest surrounding the relegation regulations is increasing the pressure on all clubs involved.

The table of the district league A and the relegation battle

The situation in the district league A is tense, and there are also exciting developments in other seasons. In the district league A 1, for example, the top team, the Kickers Lauterbach, is aiming for the title with 39 points and a goal difference of +19, while relegation candidates such as SC Lindenhof (15 points) are competing against SV Harthausen (11 points). Harthausen showed that they stabilized after the winter break and were successful in the basement duels. In the wisdom of their future, the decisions that affect further test, promotion and relegation chances are of overriding importance in this league too.

Given this turbulent situation in the leagues and the pathological discussion about the relegation figures, the last games of the season will attract a lot of attention. The coaches and players are under pressure while club representatives continue to fight for a fair solution.
