Ukrainian criminal in court: deportation to Russia demanded!

A trial has begun at the Stuttgart regional court against a 33-year-old Ukrainian who is accused of various crimes. The defendant faces charges of grievous bodily harm, multiple cases of theft and sexual harassment. The arrest warrant against him was issued in September 2024 after he was initially in custody. In March 2025, he was transferred to a special detention center due to suspected schizophrenia, reports Stuttgart News.

The defendant describes a stressful life situation that led him to flee to Germany in May 2023. This escape was motivated by poverty, political reasons and rejection of the Ukrainian government. During his stay in Germany, he loudly expressed his desire to be deported to the Russian Federation and spoke positively about Vladimir Putin.

Criminal incidents

The allegations made against the 33-year-old man are varied and serious. In June 2024 he was accused of stealing clothes and food worth over 300 euros in Filderstadt. During another theft in a hardware store, two hatchets and two hammers worth 86 euros fell into his hands. He is also accused of stealing headphones worth 39 euros from a supermarket in September 2024 and having a valuable laptop worth 1,300 euros with him, the origin of which is unclear.

The main incident that led to the dangerous bodily harm occurred in September 2024. The defendant, while under the influence of alcohol, attacked an employee of the Office for Integration, Migration and Social Affairs with a beer bottle, but was held back by witnesses. In another serious case, he is accused of sexual abuse when he is said to have tried to force his roommate in the refugee accommodation to have sexual intercourse with him in August 2024. He is also charged with sexually harassing a 12-year-old at a bus stop.

Deportation and consequences

The trial continues on July 7, 2025, while the defendant faces uncertainty about his future. Despite his call for deportation to Russia, it remains unclear what legal steps he can take to achieve this. The explosiveness of the case has also reignited the discussion about safety in refugee accommodation and the legal options available to refugees in Germany.

In another case, a Ukrainian rapist, Kostiantyn D. (26), recently received a prison sentence of 7 years and 9 months. He confessed to threatening his roommate in Berlin with a kitchen knife and committing abuse. This case also shows the serious consequences that attacks in communal accommodation can have for those affected. Kostiantyn D. said he often spent his money on drugs and alcohol and expressed relief at the possibility of staying in Germany, even if he faces the prospect of deportation to Ukraine, reports Picture.
