Lukas Emmerich takes over as coach: A new start for SV Kohlberg!

Lukas Emmerich will be the new coach of SV Kohlberg and will take responsibility for the coming season. The 38-year-old from Parkstein succeeds Philipp Siegert, who is preparing for the new challenge at FC Weiden-Ost. Siegert was able to successfully lead SV Kohlberg to stay in the league last season, but now a new era is upon us as Emmerich is acting as head coach for the first time. Those responsible for the club appreciate his passion and modern approach.

Emmerich was previously active as an assistant coach at FC Dießfurt and was able to gain experience at SC Luhe-Wildenau in the state league. A central goal of his future work will be to further develop young talents and actively integrate players from the youth sector into the first team. This strategy is seen as a decisive step in ensuring the club's long-term performance.

Departures and changes in the team structure

As a result of the change in the coaching bench, several well-deserved players are also saying goodbye to SV Kohlberg. Michael Baumann (35) and Sebastian Bergmann (34) played their last home game. Baumann was captain for over eight years and had an impressive 250 games, 123 goals and 79 assists for the club. Fabian Wudy ends his career after a serious knee injury. He can look back on a remarkable record of 233 appearances and 214 goals. Chris Jatzwauk (24) is retiring for professional reasons, while Fabian Hofmann (22) is leaving the club in the summer. Michael Baumann and Fabian Wudy will be inducted into the SV Kohlberg “Hall of Fame”.

Overall, coaching changes in amateur football are often a last resort when sporting difficulties arise. Although they occur less frequently than in the professional sector, some examples in the Upper Bavarian amateur sector show that these measures are not always unsuccessful. Compared to the professionals, where coaches like Mark van Bommel and Pál Dardai have already been fired this season, coaching changes in the lower leagues are often accompanied by financial bottlenecks and a lack of alternatives. Nevertheless, many teams were able to experience a positive upswing thanks to a new coach, which could be an encouraging sign for SV Kohlberg to break new ground under Emmerich's leadership.

SV Kohlberg is therefore facing an important upheaval. With Emmerich as the new coach and a mix of talented young players and experienced players, the club could go into the next season stronger. It remains to be seen how the team will develop under his leadership.
