Eberspaecher is struggling: sales decline despite new business areas!
In its current report on the 2024 financial year, the Eberspaecher Group reported on a challenging year marked by declining revenue across all divisions. Loud rvbusiness.com Consolidated sales fell by 16.0% to EUR 5,333.2 million, compared to EUR 6,349.0 million in the previous year. Net sales, adjusted for transitory items, fell by 9.0% to EUR 2,731.7 million. These declines are partly due to a changed product mix and falling precious metal prices.
Global uncertainty and a decline in international industrial production, particularly in the second half of the year, continue to impact business. Products in the e-mobility sector in particular experienced significantly lower orders than expected. Despite these challenges, Eberspaecher was able to achieve an operating result of EUR 114.1 million, an improvement compared to EUR 58.0 million in the previous year. This was made possible through cost-cutting and restructuring measures.
Transformation strategy and new business areas
The Eberspaecher Group continues to pursue its transformation strategy and opens new business areas aimed at manufacturing excellence. The group currently employs 10,680 people in over 30 countries, including around 3,600 in Germany. The outlook remains optimistic, with a clear focus on technological advancement and the transfer of expertise to new areas outside of the automotive industry. This includes the development of a concept for the industrial production of high-temperature electrolysers in partnership with Topsoe to improve hydrogen availability. Two four-ton units were delivered to the Danish technology company in June.
Despite all the measures, the current financial year will remain challenging, particularly due to high market fluctuations. Eberspaecher plans to focus on flexibility, efficiency and competitiveness in its core business.
Innovations at trade fairs and events
In order to continue to position itself in the industry, Eberspaecher will be present at important trade fairs. The MarkLines reports that the Battery Show North America 2024 will showcase some of the company's innovative products, including a low-voltage battery management system, advanced switching solutions, and systems for commercial vehicle applications. In addition, the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo 2024 will present a variety of hydronic systems and high-voltage heaters that underline the company's innovative strength.
Through these initiatives and commitment to developing new technologies, Eberspaecher is positioning itself not only as a leading manufacturer in the automotive sector, but also as an innovator in promising areas such as hydrogen technology.
