NetzeBW's new office building in Altbach: key handover celebrated!
The official handover of keys for the new NetzeBW building in Altbach took place on October 8, 2025. The location, which is right next to the S-Bahn station, has been expanded to include a modern office building. High-ranking representatives were present at the celebration, including the managing director of NetzeBW, Bodo Moray, as well as the head of corporate real estate management at EnBW AG, Stefanie von Andrian, and the mayors of the surrounding communities, Thomas Matrohs from Deizisau and Martin Funk from Altbach.
The construction time of the new building was a total of 14 months. It offers space for up to 30 employees and is equipped with various modern amenities, including meeting rooms, a break room, dirt locks, sanitary rooms and changing rooms. In addition, the facade of the new office building includes an integrated photovoltaic system that supports environmentally friendly operation.
Expansions and future investments
The new building is crowned by a flat, green roof, which is also used as a bee pasture. This sustainable construction underlines NetzeBW's commitment to environmental and climate protection, especially in the context of the energy transition, which is currently being promoted by the federal government.
In addition, a new vehicle hall was put into operation on the company premises in August 2024, which offers space for up to 18 vehicles. The warehouse opposite the S-Bahn station is currently being renovated to improve energy efficiency. Spare parts for the maintenance of the regional power grid and for the high-voltage grid in Baden-Württemberg are stored here.
Bodo Moray said that the investments in the location amounted to a double-digit million amount. NetzeBW also plans to invest 800 million euros in the electricity grid this year, with the aim of increasing this amount to one billion euros annually by 2030. These extensive investments reflect the necessary expansion and modernization of the power grid to enable the increased use of solar and wind energy and to ensure the stability of the grid.
Since 2016, the number of employees at NetzeBW has increased from 3,250 to around 6,500, reflecting the company's dynamic growth trajectory and underlining the importance of these investments to meet the requirements of future energy supply.
