In a worrying incident in the Böblingen region, several hit and run accidents have been reported in recent days. The police are asking the public for help and are looking for witnesses for two separate cases that took place in Böblingen and Herrenberg.
Several parked cars were damaged, and in both cases the police estimate the damage caused at around 3,000 euros each. Stuttgart News reports an incident that occurred on Tuesday between 9 and 10 a.m. in Maurener Weg in Böblingen. An unknown driver hit a Ford parked on the side of the road, causing damage to the vehicle.
Accident escape in Herrenberg
In addition, another accident was registered in Herrenberg on Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Here an unknown driver hit a parked Opel on the “Affstätter Tal” street. Police are asking anyone with information about these incidents to contact the respective police stations. Another worrying incident occurred on Saturday afternoon (not to be confused with the hit and run incidents) when a 93-year-old man was involved in a personal injury accident in Herrenberg. At around 3 p.m. he collided with a Seat that was being driven by a 33-year-old woman who wanted to turn left at the intersection of Nagolder Straße (former B 28) and the K 1081. The Audi driver continued his journey despite significant damage to his vehicle and left a trail of leaking operating fluids and vehicle parts, such as Böblingen district newspaper reported.
Injuries and high property damage
The Seat driver and her 56-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and had to be taken to hospital. Both vehicles were totaled, with the total damage amounting to around 60,000 euros. The police are currently investigating who had the green light at the traffic light at the time of the accident.
