Unknown person damaged Opel in Sindelfingen – police are looking for witnesses!
There was an incident in Sindelfingen in which an unknown driver damaged a parked Opel and then fled. The incident occurred between Monday morning at 7 a.m. and Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. on Hornisgrindeweg, near the junction with Leonberger Straße. The damage caused is estimated at several thousand euros, more precisely around 4,000 euros. The police are currently looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident. Witnesses are asked to call 07031 / 697 0 or send an email to sindelfingen.prev@polizei.bwl.de, as the Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports.
This is not the only case of hit and run reported in Sindelfingen recently. On April 25, 2025, a pickup truck belonging to a 68-year-old woman was hit by a truck. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when the truck driver turned from Mahdentalstrasse onto Eschenbrünnlestrasse and swung his cab to the left as he turned. The left side of the van was damaged, resulting in damage of around 2,000 euros. This driver also continued his journey without stopping. The Sindelfingen police are investigating and are asking for information, especially about a tractor-trailer that may have a Balinger license plate (BL-). Here too, witnesses can contact the same telephone number or email address as they should in the first case, as the KRZBB reported.
The search for witnesses
In view of these two incidents, the police are on alert. The repeated incidents of hit-and-run accidents mean that the security forces in Sindelfingen want to raise awareness about reporting such acts. Especially in cases of paying damages without a responsible person, it is the responsibility of the community to pass on information that can lead to an investigation.
In both cases, the injured parties not only suffered financial losses as a result of the behavior of the fleeing drivers. They are also left with the feeling of insecurity and injustice that such actions bring with them. The police are hoping for the citizens' help in identifying both the unknown car driver and the truck driver and bringing them to justice.
